To Bumps, Babies & Beyond: The Disney Ride Guide for Little Ones

Okay, okay. I know Walt Disney World has a list of all of the rides that you can ride without a height limit, which means babies and toddlers can ride them. However, that doesn’t mean every ride is the best fit for every age, personality, or stage of pregnancy. I wouldn’t recommend all 28 of these rides to everyone in the group.

Here are my honest thoughts from a travel advisor who specializes in Disney & a mom of 2 who has been to Walt Disney World with all stages of infants, toddlers, and during 2 pregnancies.

Magic Kingdom

I recommend with no notes (other than go for it!)

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

"it's a small world"

Jungle Cruise

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Peter Pan's Flight

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid

Walt Disney World Railroad

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel

Astro Orbiter

  • I would do this with a baby in a baby carrier/wrap.

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

  • This one is baby and toddler approved, but lots of bright lights, loud noises, so just prepare the toddlers. This may be hard for toddlers to participate, but in full transparency, I haven’t been since the remodel, so keep me honest!

Haunted Mansion

  • Great for babies and pregancy, however, once your toddler is old enough to know what is going on and get scared, this one may be a skip.

Mad Tea Party

  • This one might make you a bit sick during pregnancy, and could be a bit much for an infant

Pirates of the Caribbean

  • Great for babies and pregancy, however, once your toddler is old enough to know what is going on and get scared, this one may be a skip.

EPCOT

I recommend with no notes(other than go for it!)

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

Journey Into Imagination With Figment

Living with the Land

The Seas with Nemo & Friends

Frozen Ever After

  • This one is incredible for all, just note for the toddler that there is a backwards drop after Let it Go!

Remy's Ratatouille Adventure

  • This one made me a little uncomfortable during pregnancy, not as crazy as Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Totally fine with babies in a baby carrier! It is a bit loud.

Spaceship Earth

  • You could do this one with a baby in a baby carrier if you fit comfortably, or during pregnancy. But I find it hard to figure out how a toddler would go with you with the way the seats are set up. I’d skip with my toddler.

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway

  • This one surprised me because the movement feels more intense than you expect, especially during the Conga scene with Daisy (iykyk). I personally didn't love it during pregnancy, but many people do fine with it. Toddlers who are sensitive to loud noises or surprises may want to skip.

Toy Story Mania!

  • This one is really tricky for pregnancy if you are pretty far along with a big bump. Recommend for a toddler for the vibes, but they probably wont be able to pull the string until the are a little older.

ANimal kingdom

I recommend with no notes (other than go for it!)

Navi River Journey

Kilimanjaro Safaris

  • This is the one exception to the “no height limit” when pregnant. This ride is not recommended to ride while pregnant due to the bumpy ride path. I would still take an infant on it, but I would really recommend in a baby carrier

**Please don’t get discouraged about Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom. A shorter ride list does not mean these parks aren't worth visiting. In fact, Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parks with little ones because the animals, walking trails, characters, and atmosphere are the magic & Hollywood Studios is full of shows, cool dining experiences, a unique atmosphere, characters, dance parties, etc. They just aren’t your most ride heavy parks for this stage of life! But for the other parks, being able to ride rides and experience the joy with your loved ones is something that shouldn’t be dismissed.

Planning Disney with a baby, toddler, or baby bump?

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. I would love to be your partner in magic making and help take that off of your plate, all at no cost to you!
